The following are the most popular career prospects for this field.

#1 – Graphic Designer

A graphic designer is a job title covering a super wide range of duties in an enormous range of industries. A graphic designer develops graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company or brand logos, websites, and more.

#2 – Creative Director

A creative director makes high-level creative decisions, either for a specific brand or organization. They guide or oversee the ideas onwards into the creation of tangible results, like products, logos, advertisements, or events.

You frequently find this profession across many graphic design industries, such as fashion, film, video games, media, music, advertising, and more. Sometimes they also work in other creative companies, for example, in the web and software development.

#3 – User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Designer

The main task of a user experience (UX) designer is to make seamlessly all-in-one, pleasing, and intuitive products, services, or processes for users. UX designers consider the way the products feel and the way the users will use them. Frequently found in web design, they make sure the products flow plausibly and seamlessly from one step to another.

Meanwhile, a user interface (UI) designer focuses more on how the products are placed or arranged (the layout). Often considered a subset of UX design, UI designers pay more attention to style coherence, ensuring a consistent product.

#4 – Multimedia Artist or Animator

A multimedia artist or animator designs visual and special effects by using computer modeling or animation programs. They create complex motion graphics and animation for movies, video games, music videos, commercials, and the like. They develop the story, visual impact, and platform to produce media content according to any purpose or need.

#5 – Freelancer

You can pursue most of the above graphic design careers as a freelancer. You can find freelance creative projects with other designers who have similar experiences and portfolios. That way, you can practice your expertise in more niche fields of design, graphics, or marketing.

When you have a graphic design degree and skills, it is not necessary to be too specialized in just one job title. You can crave diversity in design by trying out different styles or working on a different range of projects. There are many online platforms in this field that can help you practice and look for more inspiration.
